Why David Paul Foster Co. in San Diego

Concrete Coating Removal in San Diego, done right.

Stripping failed or unwanted coatings back to sound concrete — for our own jobs, and for contractors without the equipment to do it properly. We work San Diego from the older coastal neighborhoods inland to the canyon-edge developments, with our own crew on every job — no subcontractors, no surprise charges, and one number to call from the first estimate to the finished concrete coating.

We apply concrete coating removal across San Diego and the surrounding area, including Chula Vista, El Cajon, Mira Mesa, Escondido.

What's included

  • Failed epoxy, paint, sealer, mastic and thinset taken back to sound concrete
  • Work we do for other contractors as well as on our own jobs
  • Grinding, shot blasting and scarifying — the right tool for the coating
  • Dust-controlled removal for occupied and interior spaces
  • The slab left profiled and ready for whatever goes on next
  • Our own equipment and our own crews
Concrete Coating Removal in San Diego

Built for San Diego homes.

San Diego brings something none of our inland cities do: salt air. Coastal and near-coastal concrete lives with marine moisture and airborne salt, and both change what a coating has to cope with. Inland San Diego neighborhoods behave more like the valley cities we know well.

That argues for systems with genuine moisture tolerance and for taking slab moisture testing seriously before coating, particularly on older properties and anything on a canyon edge where drainage is complicated.

Further inland — Scripps Ranch, the eastern neighborhoods — the conditions ease back toward what we deal with every day, and the specification follows.

San Diego FAQs

Concrete Coating Removal in San Diego, questions

How far into San Diego County do you come?

Across most of it — the city itself, the North County coastal cities, and inland out to El Cajon and Escondido. It is a longer run from Wildomar than our Riverside County work, so we schedule San Diego jobs in sensible groups.

Do you do removal for other contractors?

Yes, and it is a real part of what we do. Plenty of good contractors do not own the removal equipment or do not want to tie a crew up on it. We take the old system off, leave the slab profiled to the spec they need, and they lay their own finish over it. No competition on the finish work — we are there for the removal.

Can you do this inside an occupied building?

Yes. Interior removal is a dust-control problem more than a grinding problem, and we run vacuum-assisted equipment and containment for occupied spaces. It changes the schedule and the price, so tell us up front that the building stays open and we will scope it that way.
