About Rialto

Coatings built for Rialto homes.

Rialto is a working city with a long industrial spine and a lot of mid-century housing. The concrete reflects that mix: warehouse and yard slabs on one side of town, settled residential driveways and patios of some age on the other.

Yard and dock slabs are a Rialto speciality for us. Exterior industrial concrete has a harder life than interior floors — full sun, vehicle traffic, oil and fuel, and no roof over any of it — and it fails differently. Coatings that would be fine inside a building do not last in a yard, and we specify accordingly.

On the residential side, mid-century Rialto concrete is generally sound and generally has something on it already. Removal first, then a finish chosen for full exposure. This is hot, open ground with limited mature shade.

What we run into in Rialto

Across both, we would rather tell an owner that their slab is fine and only needs the surface addressed than sell a replacement. Most of the time in Rialto that is the honest answer.

Rialto FAQs

Concrete Coatings in Rialto, questions

Can you coat an outdoor yard or dock slab?

Yes, but not with the same system we would use inside a building. Exterior industrial concrete takes full sun, vehicle traffic and fuel spill with no roof over it, and it needs a UV-stable, harder-wearing specification. Putting an interior floor coating in a yard is a common and expensive mistake.

Our driveway is from the fifties. Worth saving?

Almost certainly. Mid-century concrete around Rialto is usually sound — it has simply had seventy years of sun on the surface and often a coat of something from a previous owner. Strip and resurface is far cheaper than replacement and takes days rather than weeks.

Do you offer free estimates out here?

Yes, free and on site, across Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Dave runs them Tuesday through Thursday and comes out to look at the concrete himself rather than pricing it off a photograph.
