Acrylic color coatings for tennis, pickleball and basketball surfaces. These are the same color families used on tournament courts, which is why the greens and blues will look familiar — the standard combination is a darker color inside the lines and a contrasting color outside them.
Court color is a playability decision as well as an appearance one. Contrast between the playing area and the surround helps players read the ball and the boundary, and the surface temperature under full sun is a genuine comfort factor here.

Choosing court colors
The classic pairing is a darker in-bounds color with a lighter out-of-bounds surround — Dark Green inside with Light Green outside, or Blue inside with Light Blue outside. It reads well, it is what players expect, and it makes the boundary obvious at speed.
Lighter colors reflect more heat. On an Inland Empire court that takes full afternoon sun, a lighter surround makes a real difference to how usable the court is in July, and it is the easiest change to make at the specification stage.
Some colors carry a higher pigment cost or need an extra coat to reach full opacity — Tournament Purple, Orange and the brighter reds among them. It is not a large difference on a court-sized job, but it is worth knowing before you fall in love with one.

What are the standard tennis court colors?
A darker color inside the lines with a lighter contrasting color outside them. Green-on-green and blue-on-blue are the two combinations you see most, with blue in-bounds having become the tournament standard because the ball reads well against it on camera.
Do lighter court colors really play cooler?
Yes. A lighter surface reflects more solar energy and runs cooler underfoot than a dark one on the same day. On a court that gets full afternoon sun it is a difference players notice.
Can you resurface a court that already has coating on it?
It depends what is under there and what condition it is in. Sound existing coating can often be recoated; failing, peeling or incompatible coating has to come off first, which is work we do. We will tell you which one you have before quoting a color.
